Should Christians try to Reform Government Schools? What Would Jesus Do?

This is a response to a friend's reply to one of my postings in which another person called the government school a "pit of hell." My friend disagreed with that and suggested that we need to take back the government schools the way the elders in the old days took their place at the city gates.....Here is my reply:

I think that you could pretty accurately describe government schools as the "gates of hell," for it is through those very gates that so many youth get pulled in to immorality, idolatry, lust, hedonism, drugs, sexual immorality, homosexuality and perversion, and it is through those very gates that the enemy is indoctrinating young children in the LIE that God does not exist and even if he does, He's not significant to even mention all year. From that LIE, a whole legion of other lies are perpetrated on innocent children such as evolution, moral relevance, humanism, socialism, Marxism, New Age mysticism, occultism, Islam, hedonism, post-modernism, etc. SO, the government school is being used by the enemy as one of his most effective "gates" or entrance points into a worldview and lifestyle that is completely contrary to God, to the Bible, to the truth, and is literally "Anti-Christ," or against Christ. This is certainly not the place for Christian parents to send their kids for 14,000 seat hours to be taught atheism, humanism, rebellion to parents and other authority, including God's authority. You suggested that we shouldn't abandon this important "gate" to the enemy.

Here are a few important points to consider. First, the gates of a city is where the wise old elders sat as judges and protectors of their city. If you are right, then the only ones from the church that should be sent and seated at the gate of government education is the oldest, wisest, most mature judges in the church - certainly not young children and certainly not young parents.

Second, I'm not so sure the church elders should be sitting in the gates of government school because it is not a God-ordained institution and has no authority to govern education anywhere in Scripture. If the elders are going to sit somewhere and judge the people and protect the household of God, wouldn't you think that they should be seated at the "gates" of Christian Biblical worldview education, at the "gates" of the local church, and at the "gates" of Christian families, and at other gates that have been ordained by God to be under the authority of His church. To say that Christian elders should be sitting at the gates of the public school, which is a worldly, anti-Christian, humanist religious institution, is the same as saying that Christian elders should also be sitting down at the gates of the local Muslim mosque, Hindu temple, Marxist revolutionary council, and occult center. These are all places of the enemy and his scheming and deceiving. Yes, we should reach out to all of them and lead them to the truth one on one, but are we really called to go down there and camp out on their doorstep and try to take over their godless organization and religion? NO. Those institutions have all rejected Jesus as the Messiah, rejected His truth and Gospel, and have chosen to continue deceiving the nations with their lies. Jesus instructs us to leave the city gates in that kind of situation and shake the dust off of our feet as a witness against them and in protest of their rejecting the Gospel of the Kingdom and the Savior of mankind. In the same way, we are not called to go down to our local government schools of humanism and atheism and try to take authority over them or sit in their gates to try to influence them or try to reform them. They are institutions of darkness that are not founded on the truths of God's Word, not founded on the fear of the Lord, not founded on Jesus Christ, not founded on anything Christian or Biblical.

Jesus' advice to us in this situation is this: They are "blind guides" leading the blind and those who follow them will fall into a pit. Leave them alone; don't waste your valuable time trying to change them. And don't throw your kingdom pearls before swine, for they will just trample them under their feet and treat them as worthless. Also, Jesus says: "Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly are ravenous wolves. You will know them by their fruits." Modern American education is founded upon the lies and deceptions of false prophets of education like John Dewey, Horace Mann, Charles Darwin, etc. Beware of them! Stay clear of them. Have nothing to do with them. In fact, expose them for the liars and deceivers they are. A bad tree (=gov't schools) cannot produce good fruit, and every tree that does not produce good fruit is and should be cut down (uprooted, pulled down, destroyed) and thrown into the fire. I truly believe that this is the attitude of Jesus and His wisdom and instructions to the church today regarding how to deal with the godless government school system. He is speaking to the church today and saying that the most powerful and effective thing Christian parents can do to properly raise their children in the fear and admonition of the Lord - is to first of all, remove them from the world's godless government school system, and then secondly, to give them a truly Christ-centered Biblical worldview education, both at home and through a family homeschool or in partnership with a well-chosen Christian school.

I pray that many would wake up and hear what the Spirit is saying to the churches regarding their children's education. The way for the church to take the gate of education and influence all of society through it is to establish truly Christi-centered Biblically-based educational centers in the home and in the church - not to try to reform the world's school system that is corrupt, built on lies, and is a very gate of hell.

Government Schools:

- Purpose of Education: To dumb students down through socialist techniques and prepare citizens for a secular, humanistic society that tolerates all lifestyles.

- Content of Education: Completely godless and humanistic! No such thing as absolute Truth and all values are relative.

- Rules: Compulsory attendance laws, and other arbitrary requirements designed to usurp parental authority which is determined by state and federal laws and guidelines.

- Teachers: Varied religious backgrounds – Humanism, Atheism, Wiccan, Muslim, ect. (If they are Christian, they are forbidden to talk about it.) Teachers may be straight, homosexual, transgender or a child molester.

- Peers / Socialization: Varied backgrounds and segregated by age. Students are often involved in sexually immoral behavior, drug and alcohol use, have a hatred for authority, use vulgar language, as well as several other delinquent activities since they are likely receiving little or no moral instruction or values at home.

- Science / Biology: Naturalism & Darwinism - Everything comes from slime, matter, time, and chance. Life has no real meaning since we are nothing but highly evolved animals.

- English: It is not even taught as a first language anymore. Literature must be representative of all cultures, which are seen as having equal value, and has no inherent meaning whatsoever.

- Rules: Flexible daily structure with freedom to go places and discover new things. All guidelines are determined by God's Word and it’s moral standards for living.

- English: Students are exposed to a variety of quality literature, which is appreciated as a demonstration of common grace and interpreted in the light of Scripture.

- Sex Ed: Students are taught that sex was designed by God to only be within a marriage covenant relationship, and that all types of fornication are wrong. Self-control and purity are emphasized until their wedding day so they do not defile their bodies or bring shame to the body of Christ.

- Safety: Students are protected by the loving guidance of their parents who nourish the minds and souls of their children in a safe environment void of threats or other debilitating factors.

- Control of Education: Parents control all aspects of learning, and ensure that students are being taught with the fear and admonition of the Lord along with the highest quality of academics.

The public school is run and operated by fools. Psalms 14:1 says, “The fool says in their heart there is no God.”

Why would Christian parents want to send their kids to be educated by a foolish establishment that rejects the Truth about God?

Not even a single mention is made in the Constitution regarding education. Education falls under the 10th Amendment leaving it to the individual states and the people. God delegates authority to parents (not the government), to ensure proper education of their children.

The book of Proverbs makes this abundantly clear that apart from the Lord and His Word there is no wisdom, knowledge or understanding. Yet, the government schools are hell-bent on pushing their unholy agendas down the throats of young children.

Proverbs 13:20 says, "He who walks with wise men becomes wise, but the companion of fools will be destroyed."

It is utterly insane for Christians to continue giving their kids to Caesar when their kids belong to God. Any school that wants to educate children apart from Christ, the Lord of Truth, is against Him, ultimately preferring lies over the Truth. (Luke 11:23)

Of course, the Bible does not say Christians should never talk to unbelievers or Christians cannot listen to unbelievers when they speak. But, at the same time it is not right for our children to be educated by unbelievers. Luke 6:40 says, “A student is not above his teacher, but everyone who is fully trained will be like his teacher.”

Scripture requires that our children receive a Christian education (Deut. 6:4-7, Prov. 22:6, Eph. 6:4). When God is excluded from the classroom, we are teaching children that they may safely disregard Him in all areas of life. At home parents teach their children to love, honor and obey God, then they send them away all day to a completely godless environment to be educated? What kind of message does that teach our kids? It tells them God really isn't that important. As long as we pray before meals and bedtime, and as long as we go to church on Sunday, that's okay with God.

The Apostle Paul said in Romans 12:2, “Therefore I urge you, brethren, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies a living and holy sacrifice, acceptable to God, which is your spiritual service of worship. And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect.”

The most impressionable years are during childhood. How can our children be transformed by the renewing of their minds if their minds are constantly being polluted with humanism, immorality and evolutionist propaganda? They CAN'T!

10 Big Reasons Not to Send Christian Kids to Public Schools

The departure from Godliness by scores of young people who have been brought up in Christian homes is cause for real alarm. What are well-meaning parents missing in the training of their children? I think the answer lies in these key words: God’s way.

Among the many problems within our culture is the downward spiral in the hearts and minds of today’s youth. What many of us may not realize is that among the biggest morality corrupters and worldview warpers are the secular-humanistic public schools. A slew of anti-God teachings within an unbiblical setting produce an enormous list of stumbling blocks, proving that public schools are manifesting the ideologies of their humanistic founders, Horace Mann and John Dewey. To hone in on a few of these, here is my “top 10” list of big reasons why Christian parents who are truly committed to training up their children God’s way should not be sending their kids to public schools.

1. Cookie cutter approach. Public schools fail to train up each child according to his or her unique giftings, learning needs, and future callings. When one teacher has to manage a classroom full of children, many simply fall through the cracks. It is no wonder that the number of tutoring programs and learning centers is growing so rapidly, and it is no wonder that the dropout rate is right around 1.2 million kids per year (7,000 every school day). Our children have a special purpose in God’s plan, and no government institution that shuffles millions of children through an efficiency-based system can come close to addressing this the way parents can in the home.

2. Anemic academics. The latest research reports that the U.S. spends well over a half-trillion tax dollars a year (over $9,000 per student) on education. One would think that there would be a decent return for this amount of spending, but as the Washington Post reported recently, children who are government schooled consistently rank near the bottom of all industrialized nations in math and science. As our taxes increase, literacy levels drop, and academic standards are being dumbed down to cover up school ineptitude. Being smart just ain’t what it used to be. In equipping our children for service to their King, we should be giving them the highest quality education possible.

3. Misplaced authority. By placing their children in the school system, parents basically relinquish their authority to teachers, coaches, counselors, administrators, and local and state board members. State laws virtually say, “Moms and dads, drop your kids off at the front door and let the ‘experts’ decide how and what they will learn.” Scarier still is the statistic that about half of all parents cannot even name their child’s teacher, making one wonder if they even know what their child is actually learning in school. We saw the public schools boldly take away parents’ fundamental rights when the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit ruled “no fundamental right of parents to be the exclusive provider of information regarding sexual matters to their children.” There are similar cases going on right now in several other parts of the country, so this is really just the beginning.

4. Family fragmentation. Students spend an average of 1,100 hours a year in public school. This does not include commutes, extended care hours, after-school commitments, and the ever-increasing burden of homework and tutoring programs. Very little time is left for meaningful family interaction. Sadly enough, once those unhealthy appetites for peer relationships have developed, parents and siblings learn to get along without each other. God has designed the family for the purpose of nurturing and training our children, a model that cannot be replaced with inferior alternatives.

5. Peer dependency. A child left with other kids for a minimum of five days a week, 180 days a year, will learn to accept and do whatever is necessary in order to gain approval by his peer group. He will learn how to talk, how to dress, how to act, what music to listen to, and which TV shows and movies to watch, and he will get a steady dose of pop culture. It’s interesting that one of the main red flags raised by homeschool skeptics is socialization. The Bible has already forewarned us about what happens to “a companion of fools.” (Proverbs 13:20b)

6. Bad company. First Corinthians 15:33a warns us to not be deceived, telling us that bad company corrupts good morals. Yet parents foolishly accept the norm of grouping 25–30 children in a classroom for the majority of the day, spanning twelve or more years of their lives, and expect their children to rise above the folly. Add to this formula the natural inability in young children to be confined to a desk for hours, followed by all the angst that accompanies the raging-hormone years. It’s no wonder schools are rampant with poor attitudes, low self-esteem, hostility toward teachers, vandalism, bullying, drug use, gun threats, fear, and chaos. While it would be nice to think that the “good kids” are being salt and light, in most cases, good morals are grossly compromised.

7. Propagating promiscuity. The Heritage Group reports, “Every day, 8,000 teenagers in the United States become infected by a sexually transmitted disease.” Armed with condoms and explicit classroom demonstrations brought to you by Planned Parenthood, it’s no surprise that the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommends the HPV vaccine for 11- and 12-year-old girls. A recent study shows that the Church is not immune either; our children in youth groups are experimenting with sex just as much as those outside the church. Sadly, today’s youth, along with their many parents, have forgotten the old adage: “If you play with fire you are going to get burned.” (See Proverbs 6:27.)

8. Bye-bye Bible. The public schools of today have succeeded in removing the Bible and are becoming more and more openly hostile toward Christianity while maintaining a politically correct stance toward other world religions and cults. Just recently, a boy who dressed up as Jesus for Halloween was sent home by the principal because his costume was deemed “too offensive.” The poor handful of kids who do attempt to make a difference for the Kingdom are often ridiculed and told to be happy that they can, at the very least, go outside and hold hands around a flag pole once a year to pray.

9. Perishing generation. Public schools are one of the leading reasons the next generation is falling away from a solid Biblical worldview and a faith-based life. Studies show that because of the intensive secular-humanistic indoctrination occurring in the public schools, it is approximated that over 80% of children from Christian homes are walking away from the Church by the time they reach college age.9 Most Christians in the United States, including many pastors and prominent leaders, are asleep at the wheel on this cold, hard reality. Thankfully, some have already woken up. One notable pastor, Scott Brown, wrote, “If current trends in the belief systems and practices of the younger generation continue, in ten years, church attendance will be half the size it is today.”

10. Scripturally unsound. My final point may be the most controversial, but the fact is that public education is causing millions of children to stumble in their walk with our Lord. Can we not logically conclude that it is unbiblical for us to send our children there? Bold words, some may say—I would say they’re rather Biblical...

If you truly care about your children’s spiritual good, then please remove them from your local public school. Christ-centered, parent-directed, home-based education works.

The majority of teachers and staff at public schools hate God and are living in disobedience towards Him. If they don't hate God, they are certainly forbidden by law to talk about God or the Bible in any way. Government teachers are not qualified to teach Christian children the basic fundamentals of life, nor is that their job. Sadly, most teachers are not even qualified to teach the required subjects such as math or reading, let alone moral absolutes and issues of right and wrong. Parents - If you don’t want your children to be like their teachers at school, pull them out before they are fully trained in the ways of the world.

Jesus said in Matthew 6:33, "But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness..."
He did not say, "But seek first academic education and proper socialization!"

Too often Christian parents ignore God's commands and seek first their own interests while neglecting their responsibilities to their children. Parents enroll their kids in all kinds of early learning programs as they seek an academic education for their children as a means to define success, but parents often fail to nurture the spiritual needs of their kids.

Further, it is painfully obvious that government schools fail to provide even the most basic academic skills for children. Never mind the fact that schools also fail to teach proper socialization skills, standards of righteousness, morality or traditional values.

"You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your strength. And these words which I command you today shall be in your heart. You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, when you walk by the way, when you lie down, and when you rise up" - Deuteronomy 6:5-7

This is an impossible task if children are away from home all day being educated in a place which teaches ideologies contrary to the Bible.

God is clear in His Word that parents are responsible for educating and training up their own children. Christian parents are instructed to seek first the kingdom of God and DILIGENTLY teach their children about God’s holy commandments ALL throughout the day.

"All your children shall be taught by the Lord, and great shall be the peace of your children." - Isaiah 54:13

God said, "Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it." - Proverbs 22:6
God did not say: "Train a child in what he should know, and when he is old he will not forget it."

Education is not just about what a child knows; it is primarily about how he becomes equipped for the battle, and how he lives his life once he is grown.

"For what profit is it to a man if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul?" - Matthew 16:26

The goal for Christians is not academic success! The most important objective with raising children is building their character with a strong moral foundation, not teaching them math, geography and science. The main goal in child training is to train them to be obedient, respectful, to honor God, to learn His Word and to love each other. Once those things are in place, the academics will naturally follow with ease.

"And you, fathers, do not provoke your children to wrath, but bring them up in the nurture and admonition of the Lord.." - Ephesians 6:4

In order to raise children to fear God, it is especially important for fathers to play an active role in their children's lives, this includes education.

"I do not pray that You should take them out of the world, but that You should keep them from the evil one. They are not of the world, just as I am not of the world. Sanctify them by Your truth. Your word is truth." - John 17:15-17

Christian children cannot be sanctified in the Truth while school officials deny God's existence and smother students with all sorts of false doctrine. Public schools are evil and systematically destroy the hearts, minds and souls of millions of children, including yours!

How can your children be sanctified in Truth at a place where Truth is denied?

The Bible says, "Do not be deceived: Evil company corrupts good habits." - 1 Corinthians 15:33

Christian parents act like naive fools if they assume their children will be able to spiritually survive in a wicked and aggressively anti-Christ war-zone! Christian children have no place in the public school where God and Truth are omitted!

If parents have any hope of saving their child's soul and raising them up for God's Kingdom, it is absolutely critical that parents give their children an exclusively Christian education!

Jesus was clear when He said, "He who is not with Me is against Me, and he who does not gather with Me scatters." - Luke 11:23

He also said, "I am the way, and the truth, and the life; No one comes to the Father except through Me." - John 14:6

Neutrality is impossible with the Lord. Either we are going His direction, or we are not. We either teach our children to love, honor and obey God - Or we send them to be educated at a pagan seminary where God is mocked, life has no value and all truth is relative.

"Beware lest anyone cheat you through philosophy and empty deceit, according to the tradition of men, according to the basic principles of the world, and not according to Christ." - Colossians 2:8

Children are not fully equipped in their faith to resist pagan philosophies or deny the empty deceptions which are taught in the public school classrooms. Children are still in training, and without the constant guidance from loving parents they are likely to stumble or turn away from the faith altogether.

"Do not be unequally yoked together with unbelievers. For what fellowship has righteousness with lawlessness? And what communion has light with darkness?" - 2 Corinthians 6:14

Government schools are by law secular, which means worldly rather than spiritual, or omitting God altogether. Christian kids should not receive an education and be yoked together with thousands of unbelieving kids all day long in a place where God is irrelevant to all aspects of life!

"And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God." - Romans 12:2

Children cannot be transformed by the renewing of their minds, if their minds are constantly being polluted with secular humanism, sexual immorality, relativism, homosexuality, evolution, feminism and New Age propaganda.

CSNNEWS.com - President Barack Obama’s safe schools czar wrote a foreword to a book in 1999 that called for elementary school children to explore their sexual identities, for teachers to incorporate homosexual themes in grades K-5, for discarding a “hetero-normative” approach to education and for “acknowledging children as sexual beings.”

Kevin Jennings, now the assistant deputy secretary for education who heads the Office of Safe and Drug-Free Schools, began the foreword to Queering Elementary Education: Advancing the Dialogue about Sexualities and Schooling (Rowan & Littlefield Publishers) by writing about the Columbine school shooting in Colorado and comparing it to the beating-death of Matthew Shepard in Wyoming and, from there, to the issue of intolerance in schools...

On page 9, one of the book’s editors, James T. Sears, states, “Acknowledging children as sexual beings or allowing males (particularly homosexuals) to teach in elementary grades dislodges the classroom from the ‘safe haven’ of heteronormativity.”

Sears, identified as an “independent scholar” living in South Carolina, continues, “Childhood innocence is a veneer that we as adults impress onto children, enabling us to deny desire comfortably and to silence sexuality.”

He also wrote, “Allowing children freedom to develop their sexual identities absent guilt or conditional love is an important attribute of queer households (and classrooms).”

"Heteronormative" is described in Chapter 9 as framing education in such a way that heterosexuality is normal while anything else is abnormal...

On page 21, Bickmore, who taught education at the University of Toronto, wrote: “Sexuality and homosexuality in particular, is generally seen to be unsafe content for young children’s classrooms. The public school system is run and operated by FOOLS, so it is not surprising that the government is producing generations of rebellious FOOLS who reject the TRUTH about God.

Over the past forty years, the moral structure of America has rapidly declined towards an irreparable state of demoralization and a cesspool of character assassination among the young minds in today's society.

In 1962 the U.S. Supreme Court removed God and prayer in public schools and replaced it with secular and humanistic doctrine. Now, government schools are by law secular in their teachings, which means worldly rather than spiritual, or omitting God altogether. Not surprisingly, it was also beginning in 1962, that SAT scores drastically plummeted, while violence, crime, teen pregnancies, STD’s, teen suicides, out-of-wedlock births, pornography use, teen alcohol and drug abuse, and illiteracy rates abruptly increased 200 to 300 percent.

The book of Proverbs makes it abundantly clear that apart from the Lord and His Word, there is no wisdom, knowledge or understanding. Yet, the government schools are hell-bent on pushing their unholy agendas down the throats of young children, producing millions of FOOLS who fiercely deny any TRUTH or wisdom from in the Bible.

"The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge, but FOOLS despise wisdom and instruction." - Proverbs 1:7

Public schools are a similar to the prison system, with authorities who force children to stay in school until they are 16 years old or graduate high school (these age limits vary by state). In effect, most children get a 10-year education prison sentence if they start school at age six. Just like prisons, public schools impose their will by force and compulsion, by teaching and promoting gang-rule, mob-mentality, severe competition, ultimate peer pressure, sick vocabulary, chemical dependency, emotionally disturbed ideas, sexual harassment, organized crime, drug trafficking, and a variety of other delinquent and destructive behaviors which are contrary to the wisdom and instructions found in God's Holy Scriptures.

"He who walks with wise men becomes wise, but the companion of FOOLS will be destroyed." - Proverbs 13:20

While our nations demise and the corruption of our youth cannot be completely blamed on government education, one must take into account all contributing factors to the increase of moral decay our country is experiencing. The government’s objective with public education is to completely usurp all parental authority, particularly Christians, and indoctrinate their children with a secular-humanistic worldview.

Consider what John J. Dunphy says in The Humanist, 1983:

"The battle for humankind's future must be waged and won in the public school classroom by teachers who correctly perceive their role as the proselytizers of a new faith: A religion of humanity -- utilizing a classroom instead of a pulpit to carry humanist values into wherever they teach. The classroom must and will become an arena of conflict between the old and the new -- the rotting corpse of Christianity, together with its adjacent evils and misery, and the new faith of humanism."

- The first plank of the Humanist Manifesto states:
"Religious humanists regard the universe as self-existing and not created."
- The second plank states:
"Humanism believes that man is a part of nature and that he has emerged as a result of a continuous process."

Secular Humanism is mainly manifested and fostered by the teaching of evolutionary science, materialism and moral relativism in our popular media and public school system. To satisfy the fundamental question of, "Where did we come from?" - children must be taught the doctrine of evolution as an absolute fact.

Humanism holds that the universe exists for no purpose. We are the result of a blind and random process that does not necessitate any kind of meaning and life is only worth living if we ourselves make it worthwhile and enjoyable. Humanism maintains that no objective or universal values exist and a person may be moral if he or she creates a system of values and lives according them.

It's also interesting to note that Karl Marx, author of The Ten Planks of the Communist Manifesto declares this as the #10 plank: "Free education for all children in government schools."
The public school system is specifically designed to entice parents with a “free” pre-K to 12th grade education, then through the established curriculum, the schools deliberately dumb the kids down by eliminating phonics, forbidding practical wisdom, and promoting values of tolerance and diversity.

As I always say, the government schools have a mandated A.B.C. philosophy that is taught in every classroom => ANYTHING BUT CHRISTIANITY. These courses include early sexual exposure to perverted morals by claiming homosexuality is normal, teaching kids how to have “safe sex,” terminate unwanted pregnancies, along with classes on pagan myths, New Age and Eastern religions, environmental welfare, and most importantly --> Mind-numbing indoctrination of evolutionary thinking so kids will grow up to recklessly live without accountability to anyone but themselves.

As a result of the this utter depravity among students, violence, crime, school shootings and murder/suicide tragedies are becoming commonplace in schools today, along with rape, molestation and other sexual crimes which are committed by teachers and students alike.

Sadly, now we can see the overwhelming evidence of how successful the public school agenda is since the majority of it’s graduates have completely adopted and embraced a secular humanistic worldview void of logic and reason. They affirm the system even further when adamantly reject absolute TRUTH and morality by accepting the lies of the culture that we evolved from slime and have no inherent value as human beings.

Brian Rohrbough, dad of a Columbine victim, recently made this bold and eloquent statement of TRUTH on CBS free-speech zone hosted by Katie Current which has naturally received an out-lash of publicity and negative criticisms from the mass media news sources:

"This country is in a moral free-fall. For over two generations, the public school system has taught in a moral vacuum, expelling God from the school and from the government, replacing him with evolution, where the strong kill the weak, without moral consequences and life has no inherent value..."

Most of Americans have been systematically brainwashed and severely dumbed-down with Darwinian dogma by a Godless government school system, so much so that today people literally choose to be willfully ignorant, and blindly believe lies over the TRUTH because their FOOLISH hearts are already hardened and their minds are utterly depraved!

Our government has given us the largest bureaucratic daycare and brainwashing system in the world! Everyday in America millions of Christian parents blindly surrender their beloved children for nearly forty hours each week over to secular strangers to be educated.

Naturally, there is much controversy among Christians today about whether or not parents should send their children to the public school to be educated by the government. But parents should ask themselves - Is it really the government’s responsibility to teach our children? Would the Jews ever send their children to the Philistines to be educated? I don’t think so!

Christian parents who seek to educate their children in the government school system allow their children to be instructed according to the creed of another religion, not Christianity! If parents delegate their authority to the government, then parents need to be vigilant in making sure the government’s “teaching” reaches the parent's standards. But how can that be if the government teachings are contrary to the teachings of God? Maybe the parent's standards aren’t where they should be?

Parents naively trust the government to protect their children and provide them with a proper education. Unfortunately, most parents today are too lazy and irresponsible to get involved in their children’s lives and ensure that the schools are doing their job. The reality is far from what the expectation should be, and as long a parents continue to ignore the facts and make excuses, their children will continued to be destroyed! In reality, parents have willingly relinquished their rights, developed a sluggish attitude and surrendered their children over to the hands of the devil to devour!

In addition to destroying your children’s minds, the school system is also designed to eliminate parental involvement in order to insure that children have a dependency on the system. The school system has replaced the need for parents, thus allowing their propaganda to reign paramount. They transport, educate, feed, socialize, discipline and watch over our children all throughout the day. There is even before and after programs along with summer programs for the especially lazy parents. Consequently, children become the victims of neglect, poor socialization and endless hours of humanistic indoctrination, which causes them to naturally reject absolute Truth and ultimately ends up leading to their failure in life.

Jesus said in Luke 11:23 “He who is not with Me is against Me.”
Neutrality is impossible with the Lord. Either we are going His direction, or we are not. We either teach our to children love, honor and obey God, or we send them to a place to be educated where God is completely irrelevant. The enemy is Satan, and he reigns in the government schools.

The very teaching or mentioning of God at school is prohibited and often times punishable by government officials. The public school is a place that mocks God and persistently omits Him from all aspects of life. To send your children to an environment that is not only hostile towards God, but rejects Him all together, is absolutely foolish and clearly against the Lord.

God is clear in His Word that parents are to “Train up a child the way he should go...” (Prov. 22:6), not place them in the hands of God-hating strangers to do the job.

If Christian parents truly love their children, they need to pull them out of public school immediately and save them from eternal destruction! We cannot expect Christian children to spiritually survive alone in the midst of a pagan world. There is no excuse why Christian parents should place their children in the arms of the enemy of God!

God calls parents to raise their own children, discipline them and teach them the ways of the Lord all throughout the day, from the time they rise up to the time they go to sleep (Deut 6:4-7). Parents ~ Why would you want to send your kids away to be educated by a system that is against your Lord?

The Radical Policies of the NEA

The National Education Association (NEA), which usually passes a dozen or more pro-homosexual resolutions every year at its annual national convention, this year in San Diego went all-out in support of same-sex marriage. This emphasis on advocacy for homosexuals was spelled out in a five-point New Business Item E.

Point #1 tells its union affiliates to support state legislation that registers same-sex couples in a way that mimics marriage. This registration would cover taxes, inheritance, adoptions, medical decisions, and even immigration.

Point #2 says that states can call this same-sex registration marriage or civil union or domestic partnership so long as same-sex relationships are treated like marriage.

In Point #3, the NEA promises to "support its affiliates" in opposing state constitutional amendments and laws that "could have the effect" of differentiating between homosexual and heterosexual couples. The NEA's California affiliate spent $1.25 million of teachers' dues money on the campaign to defeat Proposition 8 last year.

In Point #4, the NEA supports repeal of federal laws and regulations such as the very popular 1996 Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA), which defines marriage as the union of one man and one woman. According to the Government Accountability Office's (GAO) list of laws that use DOMA's definition of marriage, repeal of this law would create new Social Security and joint income tax benefits for homosexual partners.

The NEA's only concession to those who disagree with these goals is Point #5, which acknowledges that churches have a First Amendment right not to perform same-sex marriages...

The Alameda Board of Education will consider supplemental curriculum tonight which seeks to eradicate "homophobia" from students barely old enough to write their names.

The curriculum is being touted by officials in the Alameda Unified School District as necessary to "create safe schools for all children," but it focuses almost exclusively on sexual orientation and gender identity. In a recent question and answer memo defending the proposed curriculum, the District lamented that "homophobia is still very much present in many of our schools and communities" and insisted that "students of all ages must be given an opportunity to learn that the words 'gay' and 'lesbian' are adjectives that should be used with respect to describe people in their community, not words used in a negative way. . ."

The District further claimed that "using anti-gay slurs starts as early as kindergarten," and therefore all students must be drilled with positive portrayals of gays, lesbians and transgender people.

PJI staff attorneys have written to the Board in opposition to the curriculum and will address the Board meeting to point out that the so-called "Safe Schools" effort does nothing to counter the most significant sources of school bullying and harassment, such as race, religion, gender, physical appearance, and socioeconomic status. Instead, the supplemental curriculum focuses exclusively on sexual orientation and gender identity.

Brad Dacus, president of Pacific Justice Institute, commented, "It is both risky and wrong to ignore the real causes of school bullying in favor of a politically correct propaganda program. If anyone needs a lesson against name-calling, it is those who are labeling our kindergartners as homophobic."

Chicago Deals With a Rise in Student Deaths

Chicago Public School students have lost 28 of their classmates so far this academic year, a number that eclipses the number of students killed all of last school year, the Chicago Tribune reports—and the students have three more months to go until summer break.

Responding to public outcry over the high-profile murders of Chicago teens in spring 2008, school and law enforcement officials pledged to provide greater police presence at school bus stops, crack down on curfew violators, and promote a texting-tip program for youth. But police also acknowledge that most of the violence against students stems from gang membership, gun proliferation, and the drug trade—factors over which the public school system has little control.

Police have ticketed about 600 more curfew violators in 2008 than they did in 2007, and there have been half as many students wounded by gunfire so far this year compared with last year, but these successes have not slowed the number of students being killed. Chicago Police Superintendent Jody Weis says the city needs to adopt a more holistic approach to curbing youth violence, one that involves more than just schools and law enforcement.

"The real fix is going to be changing the culture, the mind-set, the emotional maturity, the social fabric that a lot of these young men are operating in," he says. "That fabric is torn. We've got to weave it back together and make it strong."

Experts agree that an array of societal problems contribute to violence against youth, but they also stress that kids who are actively engaged in school are more likely to stay safe. Chicago Public School Chief Executive Officer Ron Huberman, a former police officer who took over for Arne Duncan earlier this year after Duncan became secretary of the U.S. Department of Education, agrees with Wise and says keeping students safe is a problem that families, churches, neighborhoods, schools, and police must rise to face together.

But Chicago is not the only city struggling with student safety. In Nashville, the number of guns seized on school property so far this academic year is twice the number taken all of last year, the Tennessean reports. School officials have confiscated 10 guns from students, their family members, and trespassers since the school year began last August.

The National Education Association (NEA) believes that a great public school is a fundamental right of every child—free from intimidation and harassment, and safe for all students, including those who identify as gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgendered.

There is only one real issue for educators: We are responsible for our students' safety and education. We must ensure that everyone is given the opportunity to achieve and thrive.

Measurable Damage

We know that students are more likely to learn and succeed in safe, supportive environments. Unfortunately, safety can be an issue for children and teens who are seen as different because of their sexual orientation or gender identity. From the earliest grades, students routinely use homophobic language, and verbal taunts often escalate to physical confrontations.

The effects of bullying, harassment, and discrimination are clear. Students who are subjected to frequent harassment do less well academically, and are much more likely to be truant or drop out of school, be depressed or suicidal, consume drugs or alcohol, or carry a weapon to school.

Alarming Statistics

According to the 2005 National School Climate Survey, taken by the Gay, Lesbian and Straight Education Network (GLSEN):

- More than a third (37.8%) of students experienced physical harassment at school on the basis of sexual orientation;
- More than a quarter (26.1%) of students experienced physical harassment at school on the basis of their gender expression;
- Nearly one-fifth (17.6%) of students had been physically assaulted because of their sexual orientation;
- Over one-tenth (11.8%) of students had been physically assaulted because of their gender expression.

Back in 1849, when the organized Protestants of Massachusetts debated whether or not to support the public school movement, which was then being strongly promoted by the Unitarians, they decided in favor of support, but with some very thoughtful reservations.

"The benefits of this system, in offering instruction to all, are so many and so great that its religious deficiencies -- especially since they can be otherwise supplied -- do not seem to be a sufficient reason for abandoning it, and adopting in place of it a system of denominational parochial schools," they wrote.

"If after a full and faithful experiment, it should at last be seen that fidelity to the religious interests of our children forbids a further patronage of the system, we can unite with the Evangelical Christians in the establishment of private schools, in which more full doctrinal religious instruction may be possible."

No one can doubt that for the last 150 years the public schools have had that full and faithful experiment, and that the spiritual effect on Christian children has been disastrous. In several schools around the country, Christian children have even been murdered by fellow students possessed by satanic beliefs. How much worse can it get?

In fact, during the last 20 years, thousands of Christian parents, without knowledge of the debates that took place in 1849, have removed their children from the public schools and have either placed them in private Christian schools or are home-schooling them. They have done this despite the fact that many well-known Christian leaders have not yet sounded the alarm and, in many instances, have urged Christians to stay in the public schools and work to reform them.

But the simple fact is that the present government education system has as its foundation an anti-Christian philosophy known as Secular Humanism. All one has to do to confirm this is read the two Humanist Manifestos. The first, written in 1933 by young Unitarian ministers, asserted that the spiritual power of orthodox religion was in decline and that it should be replaced by a rational, man-centered, non-theistic religion.

"Humanism asserts that the nature of the universe depicted by modern science makes unacceptable any supernatural or cosmic guarantees of human values," they wrote. "Religious humanism considers the complete realization of human personality to be the end of man's life and seeks its development and fulfillment in the here and now. ...

"Religious humanism maintains that all associations and institutions exist for the fulfillment of human life. The intelligent evaluation, transformation, control, and direction of such associations and institutions with a view to the enhancement of human life is the purpose and program of humanism. Certainly religious institutions, their ritualistic forms, ecclesiastical methods, and communal activities must be reconstituted as rapidly as experience allows, in order to function effectively in the modern world."

In other words, humanism is the only religion in America that has as its purpose and program the reconstitution of the institutions, rituals, and ecclesiastical methods of other religions. This is an overt declaration of war against biblical religion.

Forty years later, Humanist Manifesto II stated, "As non-theists, we begin with humans not God, nature not deity. We can discover no divine purpose or providence for the human species. ... No deity will save us, we must save ourselves."

In the January/February 1983 issue of The Humanist magazine, a young scholar by the name of John J. Dunphy expressed the aim of humanists in education with these very blunt words:

"I am convinced that the battle for humankind's future must be waged and won in the public school classroom by teachers who correctly perceive their role as the proselytizers of a new faith: a religion of humanity that recognizes and respects that spark of what theologians call divinity in every human being. These teachers must embody the same selfless dedication as the most rabid fundamentalist preachers, for they will be ministers of another sort, utilizing a classroom instead of a pulpit to convey humanist values in whatever subject they teach, regardless of educational level -- preschool day care or large state university. The classroom must and will become an arena of conflict between the old and the new -- the rotting corpse of Christianity, together with its adjacent evils and misery, and the new faith of humanism, resplendent in its promise of a world in which the never-realized Christian ideal of "love thy neighbor" will finally be achieved."

Mr. Dunphy did Christian parents a great service by telling them exactly what humanists want to accomplish in the public schools. Humanists are forever paying lip service in asserting the separation of church and state when it comes to keeping Christianity out of the schools. But when it comes to humanism, they are strangely silent. As a result, humanism has become the establishment religion in our schools, and no one in the federal government or the Congress has seen fit to do anything about it.

Obviously, from a Christian point of view, the experiment of government education has been a colossal failure. In place of God, the public schools offer evolution, multiculturalism, transcendental meditation, situational ethics, drug education, death education, sex education, sensitivity training, gay studies, condoms, whole language, behaviorism, magic circles, and other humanist teachings.

These programs are creating the new nihilists, the amoral barbarians and the followers of Satan that are devastating the lives of thousands of families. There is hardly a Christian family that has not had to cope with a child lost to drugs, promiscuity, abortion, venereal disease, and pure unadulterated devil worship.

What will it take for the majority of Christian parents to realize that the public schools have become a spiritual danger for their children? Those Christian children who are strong in their faith still have to contend with the Satanists among the student body who may wish to harm them. The parents at Columbine could not conceive of the notion that perfectly normal American kids could become murderers, killing for the sake of pleasing Satan. That sort of stuff is supposed to belong in horror movies, not in middleclass, suburban families.

This is something that has never happened before in America, and it is the result of a spiritual disease called moral relativism which teaches that everyone is entitled to their beliefs, no matter how weird or anti-social, and that no one can judge anyone or anything else. That is why no one at Columbine High felt morally obligated to stop the future killers from expressing their views as wildly and openly as they wished. No one at Columbine took them seriously, because no one there believed that the pure power of evil could take hold of the lives of normal kids.

The lesson is painfully simple: When a nation abandons moral absolutes, it opens the door to unbridled evil.

The following is a list of questions from a college student who was doing a report on homeschooling and needed to interview someone as a requirement for his project. Since he chose to interview me, I thought I would post them here as well:

Q1 - How long have you been homeschooling your children?
I have been homeschooling my children for about 5 years.

Q2 -Why did you decide to homeschool your children? What factors influenced you? Was there any particular person who influenced you to choose homeschooling?

Our government has given us the largest bureaucratic daycare and brain washing system in the world…the public school, and I love my children too much to have them become a victim of Darwinian dogma, or be severely dumbed-down with godless government indoctrination.

We decided to homeschool our children primarily for the safety aspect at first, then our main focus became motivated by our religious convictions to diligently teach and train our own children in the fear and admonition of the Lord. One factor that influenced us was Bob Enyart Live, a radio show that exposed the danger and corruption within the government schools and urged parents to pull their kids out. The person who influenced me the most was my late Aunt Debbie who was a pioneer in the homeschooling movement 30 years ago. She home-educated each one of her four children from kindergarten through high school - And I'll tell you that ALL four of my cousins are the most intellectual, sociable, well-grounded followers of Christ I ever had the privilege to know. Seeing the fruit of her hard work has been a great inspiration to me to homeschool my own kids.

Q3 - How did the public school system affect you as a person? Do you think things would have turned out differently if you had not attended it?
I would say that nearly everything I learned that was wrong, destructive, and perverted, I learned in public school! Throughout my jr. high and high school years I spent much of my time following my peers and experimenting with drugs and sexual promiscuity, cheating my way through each grade and conforming to a debased mentality commonplace within the classroom. Despite the efforts of comprehensive sex-education, I got pregnant and had my first child at the age of fifteen. The whole public school experience negatively affected me, not only in the area of academics, but morally and spiritually as well since I learned that standards of right and wrong are relative.

Of course, I do think things would have turned out differently or better if I had not attended public school, but family life also plays a significant role in how well a child turns out. With so much anger and pain from my parents divorce, and without a father in the home, it seems as though I was destined for destruction anyway, no matter how I was educated! The public school was just a breeding ground for delinquents, and I fit right in.

Q4 - What do you think would be the greatest danger your children would face if they attended public school?

Some of the dangers that concern me as a parent are the obvious cases of violence and school shootings which are becoming regular occurrences in schools today. The homosexual agenda is promoted and sexual harassment is rampant in the hallways and allowed in classrooms. Rape, molestation and other sexual crimes are also ordinary events at schools which I don’t want my children exposed to.

Less obvious dangers are in and around the system itself. Public schools teach gang-rule, severe competition, ultimate peer pressure, chemical dependency, sick vocabulary, horrible eating habits, emotionally disturbed ideas, immorality and a variety of other delinquent and destructive behaviors which are contrary to the wisdom and instructions found in God's Holy Scriptures.

But all those things are mere by-products of godless school teachings. The government’s objective is to completely usurp parental authority, which it is succeeding at. Government schools are by law secular, which means worldly rather than spiritual, or omitting God altogether. Christian kids should not receive an education and be yoked together with thousands of unbelieving kids all day long in a place where God is irrelevant to all aspects of life!

The Nehemiah Institute's worldview PEERS test shows that 83% of the children from committed Christian families in public schools adopt a secular humanist or Marxist socialist worldview by the time they graduate. In addition to that, the SBC's 2002 annual meeting, the Southern Baptist Council on Family Life reported, among other disturbing things, that 88% of the children raised in evangelical homes who attend public school, leave church at age 18.

So undoubtedly, the greatest danger my kids would face if they attended public school is losing their faith in God.

Q5 - What do you believe is the greatest advantage that your children have from being home schooled?

One of the greatest advantage my children have from being homeschooled is the mere fact that we get to spend time together learning as a family and studying the Word of God without the hostility of the secular world corrupting their minds. Our days are flexible, and we are not restricted by school bells and rigid schedules or limited by government policies. This allows us the freedom to operate our day in the best way that will maximize our family’s needs and reap the richest rewards that homeschooling has to offer. We don’t have to call in on sick days or miss school for vacations because we can learn wherever we are and we don’t have to answer to the school authorities.

Q6 - To be more specific, what is the greatest academic advantage that your children have from being homeschooled?

The greatest academic advantage my children have from being homeschooled is to be able to learn in a safe and stress free environment, and to have the one-on-one attention necessary to cater to their individual needs which will nourish their love for learning. They will not be forced-fed humanistic, New Age propaganda or compelled to study subjects that are boring to them, rather they will have the opportunity to study subjects that are of great interest to them, and learn specific skills that will help them succeed in their adult life.

Q7 - How do you choose a curriculum for your child? How do you decide which is the best one?

As Christians, the Bible is our core curriculum. Teaching basic phonic sounds is the primary focus so the children learn to read with ease. Once they learn to read, quality classic books are what we use to learn. For other academic subjects such as history, science, biology, ect., the best curriculum is one that is Christ centered since we believe that God is the Creator of life and He is author all subjects.

The goal for us is not academic success. Education is not just about what facts a child knows; it is primarily about how he becomes equipped for the battle, and how he lives his life once he is grown.

The most important objective with raising children is building their character with a strong moral foundation, not teaching them math, geography, and science. The main goal in child training is to train them to be obedient, respectful, to honor God, to learn His Word and to love each other. Once those things are in place, the academics will naturally follow with ease. (*Note: Homeschooling statistics reveal that children who are taught at home outscore their public school classmates in all areas of academics by a landslide.)

Q8 - One aspect that most people are concerned about is socialization. Some would argue that homeschooling deprives a child of a social life. What are your thoughts on this?
This is a common myth that segregating children by age with very little interaction with other adults, except their teacher(s), for 8 hours a day, five days a week is somehow a healthy and effective way to learn how to socialize properly. When people ask me about socialization, I say that this is the VERY reason why we don’t send our kids to public school. If I wanted my kids to be severely sexually harassed daily, experience fierce peer pressure, have poor self-esteem, pick up a few drug habits, disrespect authority, use foul language, learn about sexual immorality and perversion, embrace relativism, feminism and tolerance as virtues, or possibly get sexually molested by their peers and teachers, then I would send them to public school in a heartbeat. But I actually love my children and care about their physical, emotional and spiritual well-being, so that kind of 'socialization' is not an option for our family!

Public education does not have some magical formula for people to deal with the 'real world'. In fact, I believe that the school environment puts kids at a disadvantage. There is no other circumstance in 'real life' where the conditions of a public school are duplicated, other than the prison system.

Q9 - How do you socialize your children?

I socialize my children by having them interact with people of all ages. We go to museums, the zoo, the park, library, the grocery store, a nursing home and other places on a regular basis during the week, which provides them with stimulating experiences where they can also learn how to communicate in a mature manner with a variety of people. I do like to limit outside influences that don’t align with our belief system, so my children primarily learn proper socialization with their siblings, friends, elderly neighbors and other acquaintances that have a strong moral foundation, hold each other accountable, and seek to edify one another in the Lord.

Q10 - A concern that many parents have about the public school system is its tendency to medicate children. What are your thoughts on this?

Parents should be concerned! The most unnatural thing you can do to young children (especially boys) who are growing and exploring is to force them to be confined to a classroom and sit still at a desk for 8 hours a day with little or no relief to express themselves. Despite the potentially dangerous side-effects of Ritalin (or other drugs), public school authorities now pressure parents to give Ritalin to their children so these kids won’t “act up” in school. Public schools across America are giving out powerful, mind-altering drugs to children as if these drugs were candy, yet outside there are signs that read, “Proud to be a Drug Free School Zone”. Such hypocrisy!

Naturally, most parents don’t want to drug their children just because they are unruly, bored in class, energetic or high-spirited. However, compulsory attendance laws force parents to send their children to public schools, and since it’s a “free” education, parents ignorantly comply. Just as school authorities resort to compulsion to get their students by force, so they apply the same compulsion against children and their parents to pressure parents into giving Ritalin to their kids.

So how do schools pressure parents? They threaten to expel the child, hold the child back a grade, put the child into a special-education class, or threaten the parents with prosecution for child abuse.

Q11 - When you attended public school were you ever medicated? If yes, what effects did this have on you?
No, I was never given medication, but my oldest daughter was from preschool to 2nd grade when she attended public school. I was told by the so-called “experts” that she had ADHD and needed the meds to sit still and focus, otherwise they couldn’t have her in the classroom. Naively I trusted them, and magically the pills worked to the teacher’s benefit. The meds made my daughter in a zombie-like state of mind, she lost her appetite and still failed to learn. We pulled her out after the 2nd grade, took her off the meds and she’s be progressing and doing great ever since.

Q12 - What advice would you give to parents who are considering sending their children to public school?
Well, it depends on if the parents are Christians or not. For the average unbelievers I would simply say, if you love your kids, pull them out of the public school before it’s too late. Oftentimes parents may get discouraged or feel overwhelmed with the thought of homeschooling their own children because the culture says parents are not qualified to teach if they don't have a "degree" in education. But a casual look at the products of today’s public schooled children quickly reveals that the so-called trained professionals are failing miserably at their jobs and producing immoral misfits who can barely read or write.

For believers, I would encourage them to have a biblical perspective when it comes to education, and remind them that it is their responsibility as parents to diligently teach their own kids in the ways of the Lord. I would let them know that God's design is for the family to be together; it was never to send children away from the home all day to be educated, especially to a godless humanistic, pagan seminary – A place where children are surrounded by heathens all day, where God is mocked and abolished from all aspects of life, and a place where all Truth is relative while all morality is tossed out the window.

I would tell parents who are considering homeschooling that if they love God and are committed to doing what is right, they are qualified to teach their children! No one can teach children better than their own parents because no one loves the children and cares more for their children's eternal salvation than mom and dad.

For Christian kids, there is no better place for education than in the home where children are loved, nurtured, attended to, and taught by their own parents.

Every Christian parent who is truly interested in the physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being of their children, their homes, and the future of our beloved America, should pull their kids out of public school and offer them an exclusively Christian education!

Why can't Johnny read, write or do math?

America's public schools are an utter disgrace, yet it's not due to lack of money. Indeed, public schools receive far more funding per child than better-performing private schools do. It's because our public schools are a monopoly that adult stupidity, greed and political correctness reign supreme.

In fact, today's schools are laboratories for disaster, where failed methodologies and policies continually find new life thanks to bureaucracies more interested in maintaining power over parents and students than in educating. Shamefully, government at every level encourages this mass social experimentation on children - success optional. As the stories in "From Crayons to Condoms" show, the destruction of the hopes and dreams of generations of kids means nothing to public school administrators, as long as the educational bureaucracy remains intact.

"From Crayons to Condoms" co-author Steve Baldwin was the first critic of the public school system to become chairman of the California State Assembly Education Committee. His wide-ranging hearings on whole language, New New Math and other educational fads revealed the frauds and failures that have devastated California’s public schools -- the largest such system in the world.

The publicity generated by that committee created an avalanche of letters from parents and teachers across the country, many of which are being made public for the first time in "From Crayons to Condoms". School Holds Surprise 'Gay' Day for Kindergartners

Parents Outraged at Public Elementary's Secretive 'Coming Out' Event

SACRAMENTO, Calif. – Some parents are shocked to find their children are learning to be homosexual allies and will participate in "Coming Out Day" at a public elementary school tomorrow – and they claim the school failed to notify parents.

One mother of a kindergartner who attends Faith Ringgold School of Art and Science, a K-8 charter school in Hayward, Calif., said she asked her 5-year-old daughter what she was learning at school.

The little girl replied, "We're learning to be allies."

The mother also said a Gay Straight Alliance club regularly meets in the kindergarten classroom during lunch.

According to a Pacific Justice Institute report, Faith Ringgold opted not to inform the parents of its pro-homosexual activities beforehand. The school is celebrating "Gay and Lesbian History Month" and is in the process of observing "Ally Week," a pro-"gay" occasion usually geared toward high school students.

The school is scheduled to host discussions about families and has posted fliers on school grounds portraying only homosexuals. According to the report, a "TransAction Gender-Bender Read-Aloud" will take place Nov. 20. Students will listen to traditional stories with "gay" or transgender twists, to include "Jane and the Beanstalk."

Some parents only recently noticed posters promoting the school's "Coming Out Day" tomorrow – celebrated 12 days after the national "Coming Out Day" usually observed on Oct. 11. When WND contacted the school to confirm the event, a female representative replied, "Yes, it is scheduled on our calendar."

When asked if the school made any efforts to inform parents, she refused to answer and said Hayward Unified School District would have to respond to additional questions. However, the district did not answer its phones or e-mails, and a voicemail recording would not take messages. "Coming Out Day" is not listed on the district's online school calendar.

Some of the parents contacted Pacific Justice Institute for representation when they learned the school was pushing pro-"gay" events for young children without warning.

Brad Dacus, president of Pacific Justice Institute, said opponents of California's proposed ban on same-sex marriage, or Proposition 8, often say the measure would not have an effect on public schools – but this is one of many recent developments that prove otherwise.

"Do we need any further proof that gay activists will target children as early as possible?" he asked. "Opponents of traditional marriage keep telling us that Prop. 8 has nothing to do with education. In reality, they want to push the gay lifestyle on kindergartners, and we can only imagine how much worse it will be if Prop. 8 is defeated. This is not a scenario most Californians want replayed in their elementary schools."

School is now out for the summer, and if your children attend public school I would like to strongly encourage you to take this time to consider alternative Christian education before the new school year begins, and your children have face extreme hostility towards their faith and relentless assaults on their moral character, day after day.

Government schools are by law secular, which means worldly rather than spiritual, and the teachings have become aggressively anti-Christ and humanistic which are undoubtedly destroying the hearts, minds and souls of all children who attend.

According to the Southern Baptist Convention 88% of children raised in evangelical Christian homes that attend public schools will reject Christ as their Lord and Savior by high school graduation. This is compared to nearly 95% of Christian homeschoolers who will keep the faith throughout adulthood. The odds are definitely not in favor for public school students - is it really worth the risk?

If you are a parent who seeks to honor God in all that you do, this must include how you educate your beloved children, especially since you only get one chance to raise them the right way – for Christ! God’s design is for the family to be together, and He commands that children receive an exclusively Christian education! It is absolutely critical that you take your roles as parents seriously if you care about the physical, emotional and spiritual well-being of the children God has blessed you with.

Jesus made it clear when He said, "He who is not with Me is against Me..." (Luke 11:23). Jesus also said, "I am the way, and the truth, and the life...” (John 14:6).

Neutrality is impossible with the Lord! Either we are going His direction, or we are not. We either teach and train our children to love, honor and obey God - Or we send them away all day to be educated at a pagan seminary where God is mocked or irrelevant to all aspects of life, and where all truth is relative.

Parents - Don’t sacrifice your Christian kids on the alter of secular humanism for the sake of a “free” education! Instead ask yourself - How much are the eternal souls of your children worth? And how much are you willing to obey God's Word to ensure the salvation of the most precious gifts you have on earth?

Whereas, all authority in heaven and on earth belongs to Jesus, and He has commanded us to make disciples of our children and teach them to observe everything He has commanded (Mt. 28:19-20), and

Whereas, teaching our children everything that Jesus commanded involves their learning to think biblically about all the spheres of human thought, activity, and life (Dt. 6:4-9) so that they take every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ (2 Cor. 10:5), and

Whereas, our thinking is not to be conformed to this world's way of thinking, but our minds are to be renewed and sanctified by the truth of God's Word (Rom. 12:2; Jn. 17:17), and

Whereas, the fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge (Pr.1:7) and in Christ are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge (Col.2:3), any instruction that does not begin with the fear of the Lord, teaching the centrality of Jesus Christ for understanding all of life cannot properly be said to impart wisdom or knowledge to children, and

Whereas, the government schools are adopting curricula and policies teaching that the homosexual lifestyle is acceptable, and

Whereas, homosexual organizations are present as approved student "clubs" in thousands of government schools and are spreading rapidly, and

Whereas, the Bible says, children are like arrows in the hand of a warrior (Ps. 127:3-5), we must understand that children are weapons (arrows) to be aimed for the greatest impact in the kingdom of God. Just as it would be foolish for the warrior to give his arrows to his enemies, it is foolish for Christians to give their children to be trained in schools run by the enemies of God, and

Whereas, the children of those parents are receiving a Godless, anti-Christian education, and

Whereas, the millions of children in government schools spend 7 hours a day, 180 days a year being taught that God is irrelevant to every area of life, and

Whereas, many Christian children in government schools are converted to an anti-Christian worldview rather than evangelizing their schoolmates, and

Whereas, the Nehemiah Institute has discovered through its extensive surveys of student attitudes and beliefs that acceptance of a secular humanist worldview by Christian children attending government schools has increased dramatically over the last fifteen years, and

Whereas, the Southern Baptist Council on Family Life reported to the 2002 Annual Meeting of the Southern Baptist Convention that 88 percent of the children raised in evangelical homes leave church at the age of 18, never to return; and

Whereas, it is anti-intellectual to artificially divorce God from his creation, and many excellent curricula are available that demonstrate the beauty and working of God throughout His creation, and experience has proven the superior intellectual accomplishments of children educated in such curricula, and

Whereas, the Bible teaches that the companion of fools will be destroyed (Pr.13:20), and that people are prone to be deceived into thinking that evil company will not corrupt them (1Cor.15:33), it is incumbent upon ministers of the gospel to warn God's people that their children are being corrupted by spending half of their waking hours instructed by teachers who are required by law to inculcate a Godless education, and

Whereas, many adult members of our congregations teach in government schools, this resolution should not be construed to discourage adult believers who labor as missionaries to unbelieving colleagues and students; rather, they should be commended and encouraged to be salt and light in a dark and decaying government school system.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the 2004 Annual Meeting of the Southern Baptist Convention encourages all officers and members of the Southern Baptist Convention and the churches associated with it to remove their children from the government schools and see to it that they receive a thoroughly Christian education, for the glory of God, the good of Christ's church, and the strength of their own commitment to Jesus, and

"It's Perfectly Normal" - A Children's Book

Do you want your children viewing sexually explicit images? Planned Parenthood certainly does.

At first glance, this book appears to be any colorfully illustrated children's book. Upon further review, I was appalled to find that this book contains graphic sexual material, encourages homosexuality, abortion and promotes nothing short of illustrated child pornography.

Planned Parenthood endorses this "sex education" book for children that shows explicit illustrations of sexual activity, and even masturbation.

I researched the book and found that it had been rejected by a state prison for it's obscene and pornographic nature, including full frontal nudity and illustrated sex acts. If this book is too inappropriate for hardened criminals, why is it acceptable for 10-year-olds?

Do you want Planned Parenthood to give these materials to your 10-year-old children? I seriously hope not.

Ask yourself a few questions:
1. Who loves your children more? You or public school teachers?
2. Who cares more about the physical safety of your children? You or public school teachers?
3. Who wants to see your children succeed academically the most? You or public school teachers?
4. Who is concerned about the spiritual and emotional well-being of your children more? You or public school teachers?
5. Who is willing to invest the necessary time to make sure your children achieve their goals in life? You or public school teachers?

Oftentimes parents may get discouraged or feel overwhelmed with the thought of homeschooling their own children because the culture says parents are not qualified to teach if they don't have a "degree" in education. But a casual look at the products of today’s public schooled children quickly reveals that the so-called trained professionals are failing miserably at their jobs and producing immoral misfits who can barely read or write.

Let me tell you parents, if you love God and are committed to doing what is right, you are qualified to teach your children! No one can teach your children better than you, because no one loves your children and cares more for your children's eternal salvation than you. Keep in mind that the goal with education is NOT academic success!

Education is not just about what facts a child knows; it is primarily about how he becomes equipped for the battle, and how he lives his life once he is grown. As Jesus said in Mark 8:36, “For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul?”

The most important objective with raising children is building their character with a strong moral foundation, not teaching them math, spelling, and science. The main goal in child training is to train them to be obedient, respectful, to honor God, to learn His Word and to love each other. Once those things are in place, the academics will naturally follow with ease. (*Note: Homeschooling statistics reveal that children who are taught at home outscore their public school classmates in all areas of academics by a landslide.)

A background in teaching is not necessary; in fact, home educated students test scores remained between the 80th and 90th percentiles, whether their mothers had a college degree or did not complete high school.

God said, "Train a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it" (Prov. 22:6).

As Christians, we are commanded to teach our children the Truth "diligently all throughout the day," (Deut. 6:5-7) and to “bring them up in the fear and admonition of the Lord” (Eph. 6:4).

God's design is for the family to be together; it was never to send children away from the home all day to be educated, especially to a godless humanistic, pagan seminary! For Christian kids, there is no better place for that education than in the home where children are loved, nurtured, attended to and taught by their own parents.

Have faith parents, and be encouraged! Trust that God has given you the ability to successfully teach your own children, and have confidence that they will reap the rich rewards homeschooling has to offer!

They claim that we cannot trust the free-market to educate our children because too many free-market (private) schools are greedy for profits, cheat parents and students, take their money, make wild promises, or go out of business.

The few bad apples in any field in the free market are just that — the exceptions. The free market has a harsh task master called competition. Fierce competition in an education free market acts the same way it does for any product we buy, whether cars, food, or computers. Fierce competition forces all competitors to keep improving their product’s quality, lowering the cost, and giving better service to their customers, or risk going out of business.

To succeed, a free-market school owner must prove that his school is better than his competitors. All free-market (private) schools have to prove their excellence to skeptical parents — their customers. If a school does not live up to its claims, parents are merciless. Like switching channels on TV, parents can and do switch to a better school, for they love their children and want their money’s worth.

Yes, there are always a few rotten apples in any field, but competition forces the vast majority of apples in the barrel to be healthy. Parents are not stupid or fools. They would quickly see if Johnny reads better or worse. It does not take four years of meaningless education courses in a so-called teacher college to figure that out. Like a rising tide, fierce competition would force all educational boats to rise. Computers get faster, cheaper, and more powerful every year.

Similarly, in a free-market education system, educational quality and innovation would explode, while competition would drive down the cost of tuition.

In a fiercely-competitive education free-market, your child would quickly learn the basics in safe, competent, innovative schools, rather than wasting twelve years in violent, drug-infested, chronically-incompetent government schools.

Also, what hypocrisy for the rotten orchard of government schools to point their finger at a few bad apples in the “private” sector. For in these monopoly government schools, the situation is completely reversed. The whole system, the whole government-controlled barrel is rotten, and the education for our kids is abysmal at worst or third rate at best. In a free-market school system, the bad schools would be the exception. In a government-controlled school system, the good schools are the exception.

You see, government (public) schools are a never-ending education disaster because they have absolutely NO accountability to parents. The schools’ teachers, principals, and administrators are civil-service government workers who are paid by their local State or city government, not directly by parents (as is the case with private-school owners). Yes, there are some good, dedicated teachers in the public schools, but the system breeds mediocrity on a massive scale, and it is the system that parents have to put up with.

Year after year, compulsory taxes prop up these schools, no matter how bad they are. Compulsory school taxes also pay teachers, principals, and administrators’ salaries, no matter how bad or mediocre these tenured government employees are.

So, no matter how bad these schools are, or how miserable the education they give our kids, parents are impotent to make changes in the system. That is also because every state has compulsory attendance laws that force parents to bring their children to these government schools (if they cannot afford a private school), whether they like it or not. In effect, these schools are government-enforced education prisons, both for parents and their children.

The difference between government and free-market schools is this — when government schools are rotten, when they dumb-down our kids with nonsense education theories that fail, 45 million children can suffer for twelve years, without parents having any recourse. If and when an entrepreneur-owned free-market school is bad, only a handful of children suffer for a few months while parents shop for a better school — with parents having full recourse and freedom of choice.

Public-school apologists criticizing private-schools for allegedly not being accountable to parents is a sick joke, but a joke that is tragic for our children. To education bureaucrats who point to alleged bad apples in the “private” education sector, we can only say --- “Doctor, heal thyself.”
